History

The original Goldendoodle was a hybrid cross of a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. The exact date is unknown, but more and more breeders popped up in the late 90s. The idea for this creation stemmed from the successful creation of the Labradoodle. The temperament of a Golden Retriever crossed with the low-shedding coat of a Poodle, and voila, you have the adorable Goldendoodle. 

Personality 

Goldendoodles are highly intelligent and not hard to train. They’re eager to please their owner and are athletic, obedient, and non-aggressive. They are the perfect dog for an active family and love to play and socialize. They can also be lazy dogs, though. You can find them chilling on the couch or cuddling up next to you. They are friendly dogs with a calm demeanor and a loveable nature.

Color and Coat

The Goldendoodle can come in a variety of colors. Both parent breeds offer different colors to this designer breed. You can find Goldendoodles in cream, apricot, red, chocolate, black, and other variations of these colors. Their coats also differ from dog to dog. Their coat can be curly, wavy, or straight. Goldendoodles have a loving nature which makes them great service dogs. They have been known to be therapy dogs, guide dogs, companions for hospital patients, and in many other fields.
