Alaskan Malamutes were said to be bred by a nomadic Inuit tribe, the Mahlemut tribe, and spread to the North and South around Kotzebue Sound in Alaska due to people traveling where food and resources were most plentiful in the harsh environment.

The Majestic Tree Hound (or Majestic, as it is known) is a relatively new breed designation for an old hunting dog. The Majestics share common ancestry with modern-day Coonhounds and, in fact, part of their lineage includes English Coonhound.

There are two different types of Welsh Corgi dogs: the Cardigan and the Pembroke. Some breed historians believe that Corgis came from Nordic and Spitz types, but others claim that Corgis are descendants of the Dachshund family.
